About Rob St. Jean
1986 Robbie St. Jean was first introduced to the Martial Arts with a seasonal trial offer in Scarborough, Ontario. Enrolled in traditional karate with his foster brother at the local recreation centre, the training did not last, but it planted a seed.
2000 Fast forward to Steve Stewart's Modern Martial Arts affiliate school in Chatham, Ontario, on February 18th. Gary Anstice, who owned the school at the time, was his first instructor. Robbie remembered what had first attracted him to the Martial Arts, and immediately immersed himself in a lifelong study.
When he reached the level of orange belt, he was asked to assist in classes by teaching Kenpo Karate to lower belts, a basic introduction to new students. He quickly found that passing knowledge onto others was both challenging and very rewarding. It was at this time that Rob truly understood his passion for the Martial Arts and realized that he wanted to open his own school.
2002 Robbie also joined the Pressure Points Study Group and earned his 1st (Dan) Black Belt in Kyusho Jitsu on May 25th.
2003 July 1st, he completed the Kenpo Karate Adult Black Belt Program and achieved the rank of 1st Degree Black Belt.
2004 September 27th, Sensei Rob St. Jean opened his 1st Karate School, Dynasty Martial Arts (DMA) in Blenheim, Ontario.
2004 October 29, Rob received his 2nd Dan (Nidan) in Kyusho-Jitsu.
2005 June 26, Rob receives his 2nd Degree black belt in American Kenpo Karate.
2006 November 10th, Rob received his 3rd Dan in Kyusho-Jitsu.
2007 July 1st, Rob receives his 3rd Degree Black belt in American Kenpo.
2008 October 2, Sensei Rob opened his second location in Sarnia, Ontario.
2009 June 28th, Rob receives his 4th Degree black belt in American Kenpo.
2012 Wallaceburg Martial Arts opens up and a head instructor is needed. So he recommends one of his 1st Degree Black Belt candidates to run the school. By the name of Zakry Musyj, he was only 18 years old.
2013 February, Rob decided to take Dynasty Martial Arts to the LTKKA and become a charter member under Grandmaster Larry Tatum.
2013 June 18th, Sensei Rob started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Gracie Barra Chatham under the instruction of Head Instructor Thomas Armstrong.
2014 Sensei Rob travels to London Ontario to seminars with Grand Master Larry Tatum and others. This same weekend one of Sensei Rob's studdent, Rose Butler, recieves her 2nd Degree Black Belt.
2016 September 1, Sensei Rob transferred ownership of Sarnia's Dynasty Martial Arts to Sensei Randy, who had been one of Sensei Rob's students since 2007. It is now called Dragons Thunder Martial Arts.
2016 October 1, Rob is re-certified for 4th Degree black belt under the LTKKA. Sensei Randy a student of Sensei Rob is also promoted to 3rd Degree Black Belt
2018 February 25th Rob receives his blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
2018 June 2nd, Sensei Rob has his highest student promoted to 3rd Degree Black Belt by Grand Master Larry Tatum
2018 Sept 30 Rob recieves his first stripe on his blue belt.
2018 October 1, Rob implements a BJJ program to Dyansty Martial Arts
He has helped other instructors to open their own Martial Arts studios. He continues to tailor the leadership skills of his Junior Black Belts and Assistant Instructors to achieve Black Belt Excellence in all aspects of their lives.
